Prepared to Perform
March 13, 2026
Storms are unpredictable, but our commitment to readiness stays steadfast. At Union Power, being Storm Ready is a year-round priority. While we work hard to prevent outages, they can still occur during severe weather. That’s why we work hard to have a safe, efficient plan in place to restore power as quickly as possible if the power goes out.
Reliability begins long before a storm arrives. Our vegetation management team works year-round to maintain rights-of-way by
regularly clearing and trimming vegetation. These proactive efforts help reduce the risk of prolonged outages and enhance system reliability. In addition, we also conduct routine inspections of our poles, lines, and other essential equipment to minimize service disruptions and extend the life of our infrastructure.
Although we can’t control the weather, we can control how to prepare for it when it arrives. When needed, we also partner with neighboring co-ops to provide additional support.
Behind the scenes, our fleet management team ensures trucks and equipment are ready to go, allowing our linemen to reach affected areas safely and quickly when it matters most.
If your power goes out, don’t assume it has already been reported. Call or text “OUT” to 1-800-794-4423 to report an outage.
Mother Nature may be unpredictable, but Union Power is prepared. Our crews are always standing by, ready to respond, restore, and keep our members powered through any storm.
