Power Your Future: Join the NC Electric Youth Tour
October 1, 2024
High School Juniors, are you ready to step into an exclusive circle of future leaders? The NC Electric Cooperative Youth Tour is now accepting applications for a select group of individuals who will lead the way in Washington, D.C.
This all-expense-paid trip will take place in mid-June to Washington, D.C., and includes:
- Tour the nation’s capital
- Meetings with elected officials
- Learning how American history has shaped the U.S. today
- Participating in leadership development workshops and team-building activities.
Youth Tour is a great chance to understand the importance of civic engagement and participate in networking events with other students across the country.
Last year, youth tourist Evan Keith from Union County stated, “This is an experience that very few students in the state are able to enjoy. If you can’t stand up for the issues you believe are most important, stand out. Make yourself heard. This is what empowers the future generation of leaders, so go the extra mile and apply.”
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to explore landmarks like the Smithsonian, Capitol Hill, the Washington Mall including the MLK Jr., Korean War, Lincoln, Vietnam, and WWII memorials), the Washington Monument, and other iconic sites.
Applicants who are interested can learn more and apply at union-power.com/youthtour. The application process will close on Dec. 31, 2024.
