Application Opens Sept. 1

High school seniors, now’s your chance! Union Power’s College Scholarship application is now open. This is an excellent opportunity for those planning to attend a four-year university or a community college in North Carolina.

Union Power will award a $1,000 scholarship to 10 students from our five-county service area—Union, Stanly, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and Rowan counties.

Guidelines to apply:

• Students must reside in the home of a Union Power Cooperative member.
• Must be a senior of the current graduating class.
• Planning to attend a four-year institution or community college in North Carolina.

Applications are judged on the following criteria: 40% need, 30% academic achievement, and 30% extracurricular activities in school, civic, and community functions.
