Union Power has recently implemented a new policy regarding underground service drops. We now require the meter base to be installed on the same side of the home as the underground facilities that will serve it.

This new policy has been implemented to reduce costs to our members, reduce interference with other utilities and obstacles such as driveways, decks and landscaping, and improve quality of service for members by having shorter service drops.
Installations inconsistent with the attached drawing will still be served, but the service requestor will be responsible for additional costs incurred. Payment of any such costs will be required prior to the service being energized. Please contact us if you require a non-standard installation, and a field representative will meet you to assess the service and advise of additional costs.
